Student Life Application Study Bible

I distinctly remember buying the first Bible I picked out myself. I was 14 years old and ready to move up for my “kid Bible” to a teen one. It was a gray teen study Bible in the New Living Translation. I’d never seen that translation before, and I loved that it felt less intimidating to read than other versions I’d looked at before. I wish I still had it and could see the passages I highlighted and notes I scribbled in the margins.

Fast forward to 35 year old me who now reads scripture aloud to her kids (one who is only a few years shy of 14…). I had a big study Bible in a different translation open on the table, and I could tell the boys were having a hard time following some parts. I had a lightbulb moment about how much I used to love reading the New Living Translation. I had another copy on my shelf, so I grabbed that to read! It’s such a great translation for reading out loud, and it is easier for kids to follow in my opinion.

I was thrilled when I saw the new Student Life Application Study Bible come out. Not just because of the translation, but also for what a vital tool it’s been. This Bible has over 350 maps, infographics, and illustrations. There are study notes in the text, and it also has an app called the Filament Bible app paired with it that helps you dive even further in to your study. Between the text and the app, there are more than 27,000 notes to learn from.

As I dig into scripture with my kids, I love having visuals and extra information right in the text for us to look at together to better understanding what we are reading and further our learning.

So whether you are wanting to study on your own or have a great Bible to study with your kids, I definitely recommend the Student Life Application Bible!
